"Ahead of joining the euro in January 2008, property prices in Cyprus continued to rise for the ninth month in a row, recording a monthly increase of 2.7 per percent in September. Prices have risen by 12.3 per cent year-on-year, increasing the average property price in Cyprus to CYP£103,799 (£123,900).

Mark Bodega, Marketing Director of currency specialists HiFX, says of the islands' imminent euro accession: "It will encourage further inward investment and has sparked increased interest in Cypriot properties from Britons, who are attracted to the strong economy and culture.
