1) A selection of renovation properties will be suggested to the client and viewing will follow on arrival in Cyprus. Listed houses are entitled to renovation grants from the government of Cyprus. At present listed houses attract a grant of 40% of cost of renovation up to a maximum of CYP40 000 (€68 000).

2) Work begins, builders will remove all stones carefully for re-use during re-construction. Some houses have walls that are in good condition, in this case the major work will be to replace the roof, floors, doors and windows.

3) In a complete ruin it may be necessary to cast new foundations. It is possible to introduce cavity walls whereby the external walls are solid stone and the internal ones of brick and plaster. Extensions to the house can be built in the same way in order to have uniformity.

4) Services are laid in the same way as conventional houses. Solar heating panels are a standard feature in Cypriot homes. Upon demand, air conditioning units, fireplaces, water softening systems and swimming pools can be installed.

5) And at last, the final result of a completed renovated old stone house.
